The service associated with an ALG that has been disabled can continue to be used in a ScreenOS firewall policy. However, the trigger port associated with the ALG service no longer launches application layer inspection of the payload. Instead, the trigger port simply causes a stateful firewall session to be formed with standard TCP/UDP session state.
